Basics to Share with Others:
Our vision is to have a showpiece community center, a focal point the community can be proud of for many years. In that center, the library will improve and expand upon our current services:
- providing materials on current topics and titles
- offering basic literacy services
- coordinating great family and children’s services
- expanding knowledge of information literacy.
We estimate we’ll need about 12,000 square feet to provide those services well. We need separate areas for:
- circulating materials
- housing books, CD’s, videos, magazines, and other library materials
- confidential classroom or tutoring space
- research computers, possibly in cubicles
- large staff work areas
- director’s office
- large storage area
- lockable employee personal storage (lockers)
We can share common areas for:
- bathrooms, including family bathrooms
- meeting rooms, including both large (auditorium) and small (conference table) sizes
- computer labs
- classrooms for Adult Learning Center
- geneology resources
- display cases
- snack area
- children’s play area
- soundproofed nursery
- interpreters
- parking
- possibly office areas on a second floor
