Services We Provide:

General

§ Current titles and topics for recreational reading.

§ Basic literacy services for adults and children, including a learning environment, specialized materials, and access to trained tutors.

§ Print, non-print, and electronic reference and general resources to meet the needs of all ages, from prenatal to senior citizens.

§ Business and career information services.

§ Cultural awareness materials and programs that celebrate the cultural heritage of our community and expand our horizons to the wider world.

Infants/Toddlers

Clearwater County Infant Project - Group meetings, individual home visits, and up-to-date information about each stage of a child's growth from pregnancy to age 5 are all provided by CCIP.

Read to Me Coalition - monthly meetings of citizens and agency representatives concerned with parenting of all ages and special topics relating to children birth to 5.

Storytime - biweekly offerings, including Saturdays, during the fall and spring. Programs for infants/toddlers and their parents and preschoolers include books, crafts, and songs.

Children

Family Night - happens once monthly during the school year. A themed night where a story is read, children participate in a small craft, and then take turns playing an educational computer game.

Summer Reading Program - runs during June and July each summer. Incentives are given for weekly library visits for children ages 0 - 18. Fun games and activities every Wednesday.

Homework Help Center - free after-school tutoring and homework help for any child of school age.

Classroom and Child Care Center Visits - classes and care centers such as LEAP visit the library to check out books and build solid library habits.

YA

Youth Advisory Committee - meets monthly during the school year to gather advice from teens and pre-teens, raise money for the Young Adult section of the library, select new books, and refurnish the area.

Adults

Book Discussion Group - meets once a month to discuss a book. Interested patrons should contact the front desk to receive their free Book Group books.

Public Speaking Programs - the library can help organizations looking for a speaker by allowing them access to educational videos, library speakers, and annotated bibliographies.

Adult Learning Center - provides free tutoring, computer training classes, and GED information to the public.

Consultations with Care Providers - provides advice on early literacy and enriched learning environments to child care providers, teachers, and parents.

All Ages

Bad Poetry Week - patrons of the library pen some awful poems and receive prizes for their terrible efforts.

LiLi Database/Magazine - allows patrons access to thousands of magazine articles online.
